Artist's Statement"My reason for painting is the desire to focus on the preciousness of life, to acknowledge that we are uniquely different and uniquely the same. Images in my work are from all cultures and may be real or imagined; I hope to pull them from their tapestry of life in such a way that they are obviously connected using abstract shapes and colors as a visual means of communication. Each life form is a learning experience and also brings great appreciation for life on this planet. The gold leaf represents the value of life and our link to the future." 2003
